I hope you’ve had a nice week so far! I started off my week with lots of positivity :D, trying to anyway. The Belly Dance season has started again and I couldn’t be more excited. I know that I love it, but I sometimes forget how much… that is until I start doing it again and feeling the energy flowing through me while moving to the music.
I also started watching Taiwanese dramas again since last week. It’s been several years that I hadn’t watched those, because I was more into Korean dramas the recent years. But it’s been more than 2 years that I haven’t watched any Asian dramas either. The thing about these Asian romantic comedies is that it is so sweet and fun, but sometimes too melodramatic that I’ve had my share for some time haha. Recently my BF has been wanting to learn Mandarin. So I told him the best way to remember the words is to actually hear conversations and try to repeat after it. So we’ve started watching Fondant Garden (which is from 2012 :p). It’s an old one, but very good nonetheless!
Onto the serious stuff though, let’s get into the review of another RAINPHARMA product: the Brightening Face Scrub. I’m following a certain order with my reviews here, so be sure to check my previous post:
Looks pretty much like the other tubes: sleek, classy and simple with the elegant lettering. On this product it says: Give aggressive scrubs the boot and fall in love with something gentler and more effective. This sample contains 20ml, while the full size is 100ml and retails for 31.95€. The full sized product comes in a bottle and a pump though.
The Product & its Claims
This product is supposed to be a mild face scrub that makes you look younger and glowy, by removing dead skin cells. But it doesn’t damage the skin barrier and respects the natural balance of the “good bacteria’s” on your skin. The secret to this formula is the use of soft oil beads made from jojoba. The almond and grapeseed oils keep your skin soft and supple and the cornflower cleans, cools and calms the skin.
Y’all know by now that my talent isn’t describing scents. But I do still think it’s important to give some sort of description :p. I have one word for you: Herbs. For the life of me, don’t ask me which ones :p!
How does it perform?
I like a scrub that contains lots of beads and not the types in which you have more cream and almost have to look for the beads, if you know what I mean… When I massage it on my skin, I like to have the exfoliating sensation, slightly numbing my skin but not too much. I don’t like the types of scrubs in which the beads are big, but feel like little balls on my skin and basically do nothing…
I can definitely say, that I like this scrub. It’s nothing special, but I do like it. It’s a white cream which you apply on moist skin and start massaging. It feels soft, but slightly drying after you rinse your skin. However, within this skincare line, you’re meant to wash your face with a gel cleanser after the scrub. This formula reminds me a lot of the Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream with Microbeads. But that one retails for 31.50€ for 50ml. You thus get twice as much product for the same price with the Brightening Scrub from RAINPHARMA.
I normally never recommend a scrub to someone who has very sensitive skin or who suffers from redness. But ever since I’ve started using this whole line, I feel like the products work very well together and that the skin feels incredibly moisturized. I think that if you have sensitive skin, this product could be for you, especially as it is very natural and doesn’t contain any parabens or any other aggressive substances.
Personally, I don’t think I would particularly purchase this product as I have used Korean scrubs before, that I prefer. This one didn’t wow me to the point that I’d give up my scrub-celibacy (translation: I’m not ready to give up my freedom to play around with other scrubs…)
That was it for this short review!!! I hope you’ve enjoyed it! Are there any scrubs you’d recommend to me? Please share!
