Cup of Favorites: January 2019

Sunday 13/1/2019

Hello my Frangipane cakes!!

What the HELL… just happened!?! Here I was sitting in my living room, writing my next blog post somewhere in December… And we are now in January… in 2019… the 13th even!! My God, how did this happen! OH and I also wish you a very happy New Year! I wish you all the love, joy and friendship in the world. May it be a year to create beautiful memories!

But SERIOUSLY, I blinked, got caught up in life and here we are again a month further! I’m in shock… I wasn’t ready at all for 2019. But okay, time goes by, as always and I’m always trying to run and catch up. My next post will be ALL about my New Years Resolutions! I have lot to do this year. And I’m hopeful and confident this time around, I’ll keep up with it. Uhu friends, ain’t giving up yet, as I have a plan! Before I update you on my 8 NY resolutions, some more important matters…

Yes, you’ve guessed it! My favorites… Nah, just kidding, not that important, but still enjoyable :p. I’ve been twice in Asia the past year and have collected a lot of exciting new stuff. Especially on the Skincare department, I’ve made some interesting discoveries… My skin and me, that’s a whole other topic, I swear (we’ll address that in another post).

Behold, my (giant) cup of Favorites!

Make up Favorites

Essence Camouflage + Concealer

Lightweight, full coverage, great longevity,… Me likes! Especially the huge doe foot applicator reminds me of that oh so famous concealer everyone has been loving the past year: the Tarte Shape Tape…

Essence I Heart Extreme Mascara

It’s cheap and holds up my straight lashes! I love how it slightly makes it thicker and more voluminous. I’ve even found out that I actually could skip curling my lashes O_o! Shocked! Love love love!

Etude House Mirror Holic Liquid Eye

Shine and glow is addictive. No really, I’m not even joking… Once you get used to the wet highly shiny eyes, you just can’t go back. I find it hard to not do shiny eyes when I don’t use this product. I have the shade PK002, but I’m definitely expanding my collection with some more colors!

Morphe Jaclyn Hill Pallet

There’s no need to deny it, I posted several looks with this baby! I’ve really enjoyed this pallet the past year! It’s versatile, pigmented and huge! It really was a great buy. After having used this pallet, I didn’t feel like I needed another (figuratively of course, I always need more pallets).

Etude House Double Lasting Cushion

I don’t like cushions in general. That’s a fact. I’ve tried some before and never really got into it even though they were taking over the world. I just thought it was such a waste, because for the exact same price, you could get a liquid foundation with a lot more product. However I changed my mind after trying out this one from Etude House: it’s full coverage, applies very thinly and stays on quite well. So yeah, now I’m hooked!

Etude House: Play Color Eyes in Beach Party

I’ve actually already written the review in November, while I was waiting for my transition flight back home. So I’m not going to say much, except that it’s in this list and that it’s here to stay, I vow it shall!

Skincare Favorites

Premium LuLuLun Sheet Masks

I have seen this brand everywhere in drugstore shops in Taiwan, but never picked them up. When I went in Singapore in November, I finally picked it up as it was on sale. I got this box with 5 bags containing 7 sheet masks each! I love this idea of resealable bag. I always feel guilty about using a mask due to the waste. This is definitely a plus point. I’ll do a separate review on this product, but one thing is for sure, it does WONDERS for your skin!

Banila Co Clean It Zero

Years after my first blog post ever, which was about the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, I have finally tried out the “original” Banila Co cleansing balm. I’ve seen this product around for a very long time, but never was able to get my hands on it. While I was in Taiwan, I finally got to pick it up. I’ve tried it, I love it! Review in the making!

NEOGEN Gauze Peeling Wine

I first saw Jen from Meejmuse talk about it. I also found this at Shop 88 in Taipei (man I love that store). I really enjoyed this product because it’s soft and cleanses very well. You can actually see the dirt on the pad even though you’ve washed your face already.

Laneige Fresh Calming Gel Cleanser

I’ve only started using it in November, but I could not leave this out of the favorites. It just changed my skincare game. I love the texture, but most importantly how it makes my skin look: fresh, beautiful tone, healthy, glowy,.. Can’t go without it!

Laneige Fresh Calming Toner

A good toner is so important to keep your skin clear. You might think it’s an unimportant step. But wait till you’ve used it for a good chunk of time and you’ll see how bright it makes your skin. You’ll thank me later!

Soooo Friends, that pretty much concludes my list! If I’ve forgotten some, I’ll write about it in my next favorites post, which may not be after a year. Because in 2019 I’m planning on traveling a lot again, so I’ll definitely be branching out to new brands!

Now I’m going to roll up in the cough and learn Chinese which is part of my NY resolutions. 30min per day is currently my target. Let’s push ourselves forward and help each other achieve what we want in 2019 and still other years to come!

Have a nice rest lovelies! And enjoy your week!

Sarah

I really enjoyed reading about your favorites. I want to try that mascara and I need to start using a toner again. I don’t know what happened. I used to use one religiously and then I just haven’t for the past 3 months. My pores are clogged (especially with adjusting to this new climate) and it is time to start again! Thanks for reminding me!

Hey Beautiful! Haaa, yes Chinese! It’s such a fun language to learn. And to be honest I sometimes recognize some vietnamese words, so it does help a lot. I can in no way have a decent conversation yet, but hopefully that’ll come :D… xoxo Sarah
