Cup of Reviews: Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) – Volupté Plump-in-Colour in nr 3 Insane Pink

Hello my Sweet & Spicy Ginger candies,

Last week, I posted my review on the DIOR ADDICT – Lip Glow To The Max in Raspberry and about the same time as I received that product, I also bought one of YSL’s newest lip products. I’ve used the YSL Volupté Tint in Balm in the past and I’ve used it up completely. This usually doesn’t happen to me, as I have so many lip products. But what I really liked about that one was how smooth it glided on my lips, how it made them look juicy and feel luxurious.

I’m excited to share with you my thoughts on the Volupté Plump-in-Colour.

The Packaging

You of course know how I feel about their gorgeous packaging… Elegant and sleek silver tube, with their logo in gold embedded in the middle and behind that logo, you have the shade of your lipstick. This makes it easy to distinguish it from other shades you may have.

The bullet is a bright pink shade with in the center a black heart. Containing 3.5g worth of product, this lipstick retails for about 30€ in Belgium.

The Product & it’s Claims

This lip balm is meant to do several things for you: plump, moisturize and provide a juicy high shine lip with a natural looking shade. The plumping sensation is provided by the black heart in the center of the lipstick and the outer colored part provides a sheer color over your lips.

The Scent

Like the other lip balm like product I tried before from YSL, the scent reminds me of sweet melon. I really like how it smells.

The Shade

A sheer deep berry pink, that enhances your natural lip color or even boosts the underlying lip product you use.

How does it perform?

The lipstick glides on your lips smoothy, leaving a wet juicy shine on your lips that makes them look healthy and plump. The plumping effect is immediate and quite strong. It doesn’t hurt, but the tingling sensation is no joke! It doesn’t necesarily makes your lips that much bigger, but it makes them thicker. From the side you can tell that my lips got fuller as opposed to the other side, where I wasn’t wearing any…

1. Left half of my lips is with product, but the right half I didn’t apply any product. 2. Plump lips. 3. no product. 4. 2 coats of product.

Even though the shade may look vibrant on the bullet, as it is sheer it looks quite natural on your lips, even if you don’t wear any other make up.

The formula doesn’t sit into the fine lines, nor does it accentuate any dry patches. As a matter of fact, your lips look extremely moist. And this hydration lasts for 4hours or longer. I sometimes put it on before I go to sleep and in the morning, it looks really plump and healthy.

My Final Thoughts

I love love YSL lip products. So far I’ve used balm type products and lip oils from YSL and it never disappoints. I’ve used the cheek and lip blush in the past, but as i’m not a fan of dryer products on my lips, that one was a pass. But I know that my bestie really liked that product.

Overall, I really recommend this to you, if:

  • you have dry lips
  • you’re looking for a natural lip shade
  • your lips could use some volume
  • you’re into the luxurious packaging

Hope you enjoyed this review! Have a lovely week friends!!

Love,

Sarah
