Well hello there lovely matcha rolls!
How has your april been so far? It’s crazy how fast the end of the month is nearing and soon, we’ll be one third in 2019! Are you feeling like this year started off amazing? Or maybe not? Share with us below!
Since 2019, I went all in with this self development mission. I’ve gotten so much clarity since I first started doing this and there’s still much to uncover. One of the things I continuously try to do is learn as much as possible and absorb the inspiration I get from Podcasts, Youtube Vids and of course a good read!
Here are the books I am planning on reading in 2019:
The Book of Coaching – Ajit Nawalkha: I’ve been interested in coaching for several months now and am looking to find out more about it. I bought this book on Mindvalley.com, after I subscribed to an online podcast with Jim Kwik (from Kwik learning, a brain coach). I’ve learned so much from that, I decided to trust this website and give this book a go.
Make Every Man Want You – Marie Forleo: You guys know my undying love for Marie. Such an inspiration, role model and amazing person! This book goes further than just getting any man you want, it’s a practical guide on how to become more confident. Always a nice thing to have, confidence, don’t you say?
Side Hustle – Chris Guillebeau: The very first book I started reading when I started this self discovery journey was “Born for this” by Chris Guillebeau. I really loved his writing style. And it truly helped me on my path. So naturally I bought the “100€ startup” from the same writer and also “Side Hustle”. Can’t wait to dig in the practical tips and tricks, he’s sharing through his knowledge and talks with people from all over the world!
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind – Vishen Lakhiani: How to have vision, how to look past what we see? How to break free from the rules that have been passed on in our societies generation after generation? Can’t wait to start reading this one! Vishen Lakhiani is the founder of Mindvalley, some sort of online college for coaches. I’m very much intrigued by the different courses offered!
Start with why – Simon Sinek: I saw Simon Sinek on a TED talk video, through Marie Forleo’s vids and like with all the writers I’ve recently been researching, this is a guy that I find pretty interesting. He talks a lot about leadership, which is something I’d never consider in the past. But these recent few years, I’ve noticed certain patterns that do point out to that direction. So I’m allowing myself to research it some more…
I will teach you to be rich – Ramit Sethi: Another person I saw on one of the interviews with Marie Forleo. The title of his book is just enticing. And you know one of my goals for this year is to save some money.
The list is actually longer, but I’ll be happy if I can finish these. Aside from that, to make my totally nerdy personality complete :p, I still have some Fantasy books I’d like to get into.
Queen of Air and Darkness – Cassandra Clare: Because I’m a huge fan of the Shadowhunters series by Cassandra Clare :p. I’ve never read the original series. I immediately dived into “The Dark Artifices” which I LOVE! I got this book for NYE, but haven’t gotten around reading it yet. Because I really wanted to read again the previous 2 books, to get into the Shadowhunters world again :p.
Soooo, have you heard or read these books before? Or do you know the writers? What do you think of them? Do you generally like to read Self development books or do you prefer autobiographic books or fiction books?
Anyhows, hope it gives you some inspiration! Have a great weekend, beautifuls!
Love,
Sarah
Looks like you got some good books to help you out and I’ve always wanted to read the Shadowhunter books!! Maybe at some point. ♥

I love reading, but as I pass a lot of time in front of a screen, I sometimes choose an audiobook instead. So when you’re cleaning the house or book, you can enjoy the book! Multitasking ain’t good for the brain, but boy you do win a lot of time doing so haha! Thanks for dropping by! xoxo Sarah

I usually prefer fiction or memoirs, I’ve never been able to get into self-development books. I hope you’re able to read them all this year, though!

I absolutely get that! I think that you only get into self-development books when you actually need it. When you are at a good place it’s not something you’d look into. At least that wasn’t the case for me… I never thought I’d be into these books either. It only came because I felt like I was stuck. Unraveling it piece by piece, the books I’ve read so far really have helped me. But obviously reading a good fiction book remains one of my favorite genres to read ^^.

I think it’s because I’m kind of stuck but I do love where I’m at so I don’t want to read something that tells me to change, y’know?

Being happy where you are is absolutely great! I get that, I didn’t like self development books until recently. It’s only interesting when you’re actually looking for change… I’ve found that over the past 2 years, I’ve hit the wall again twice, because I felt like I wasn’t at my full potential… But when you’re happy where you are! Enjoy that feeling!
